Reiki is a Japanese word meaning the universal energy of life.
This therapy involves the channelling of vital energy to increase physical, emotional and spiritual self-healing capacity. The principle of reiki is simple. By placing his or her hands on the patient, the therapist creates a source of vital energy, which he or she channels to the patient. This energy invigorates the patient, enabling the release of the bodily energy necessary to stimulate recovery. The therapist also balances the patient’s energy flow to provide the necessary vitality for the treatment of various blockages. Reiki does not stop there. It brings the individual into contact with the inner self. Reiki treatment constitutes all-round harmonisation. And where there is harmony, there is no room for illness, suffering or conflict.
This practice addresses two distinctive parts of the individual.
One targets the physical energising of the body. The other treats a more spiritual, mental side of the person and is used to treat emotional issues, life situations, to free the body’s memories.
